About Professional Computer Maintenance

Marapana Pty Ltd began trading in Launceston in 1988 as Professional Computer Maintenance. The company was set up initially to provide support for Hewlett-Packard throughout the state and, to this day, we still remain HP's Authorised Co-operative Support Organisation for Tasmania.

Rapid growth in HP equipment installations, coupled with a widening reputation for service and technical competence, led to significant growth for PCM. While HP support remained the primary focus, equipment and systems supplied by other vendors were added to the list of PCM services. Internal requirements for training, documentation and spares were also met.

Demand for on-site services led to a PCM office opening in Hobart in 1989.

Our Original Equipment Manufacturer service is constantly expanding and we now support Canon, Cisco Systems, Compaq, Dell, EMC, Epson and Unisys along with Hewlett-Packard.

Service calls are processed in Launceston and Hobart through our 1800 006 228 Freecall service. Automated call logging software tracks jobs and ensures quality service levels are met. The call logging software is a custom designed product produced by our software division.

The Company currently employs 18 full time Customer Engineers and 3 Call Coordinators. Customer Engineers are product trained and hold professional or para professional qualifications in Electronic Engineering and/or Electrical Mechanics.

Because maintenance is our business, PCM is able to work closely and ethically with the major Tasmanian equipment dealers. Relationships have also been formed with many interstate VAR's and maintenance organisations.

The client base on which the company remains focused is Government, Industry and Commerce. However, Vendors, Dealers Distributors and VAR's are seen as not only important clients but long-term industry partners.
